Archived 29 made a powerful statement at New York Fashion Week, debuting their Neck Break collection during the Brown Sugar Monochrome Gala and CDCD Productions’ “Welcome to the Jungle” show. But the message didn’t stop there. The brand took it back to its roots, returning to Detroit’s alternative fashion scene for a bold flash fashion mob at Riverside Park. This was not just a runway show—it was a protest against fast fashion, showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainability and social change.

Neck Break

Archived 29 first showcased their Neck Break collection at New York Fashion Week during the Brown Sugar Monochrome Fashion Gala and CDCD Productions’ “Welcome to the Jungle” show.

Taking over Riverside Park in Detroit for a flash fashion mob that showcased designs and made a strong statement against fast fashion. The event featured 29 standing models who embodied the message of individualism, each wearing a propaganda tee with unique and thought-provoking slogans. These tees acted as a canvas, allowing each model to express their voice within the broader social and environmental activism context.

In addition to the stationary models, 15 dynamic looks were showcased through runway/walking models, who strutted down a skate park and transformed into an impromptu runway. The energy was electrified further with a live DJ and performances by alternative Detroit artists, adding a raw, local flavor to the event and enhancing the sense of rebellion and creativity.

The entire experience was a fusion of fashion and protest, challenging conventional fashion systems, emphasizing sustainability, and breaking down societal barriers. Archived 29 not only defied traditional fashion norms but also spoke volumes about the urgent need to reconsider the impact of fast fashion. Fashion, in this moment, became not just about style, but about activism, freedom of expression, and a call for change.
